2015 Catch Up: Jason and Kate Love Photoshoot

While we were in Oregon, I asked Emily to take some photos of Jason and me since the last time we had professional photos taken was at our wedding. They turned out beautifully.

This little cherub joined us for a few photos. I love her.

I think my husband is the most handsome man in the universe. Heart eyes forever.

I am the luckiest girl. Really. Here are a few things that I love about Jason:

-Sometimes when he has already fallen asleep (but I'm not yet--this always happens) and I change positions in bed, Jason will roll over and say in a hoarse whisper, "I love you." I'll ask him the next morning if he remembers saying this to me, and he doesn't. I think it's the sweetest thing that he subconsciously expresses his love for me.

-A few months ago I woke up from sleeping after a night shift and Jason told me that while he was studying in the living room, someone knocked on our door. It was a middle-aged man who was offering to paint our address on the curb outside our house. Jason declined. When he was telling me about it later, he felt so bad that he had turned the guy away; at least he was trying to work to earn some money, not just begging for money like some people out there. That night, when we were eating dinner, I saw a van drive by that looked like the one Jason had described the man driving. Jason looked out the window and realized it was the same guy and literally ran out the door and down the street to catch him and tell him he could paint our address on the curb. I love Jason's good, pure heart.

-Jason is thorough and careful. If we have to spend money on anything, especially a big purchase, he researches for days, reads reviews, talks to people and gathers all the information he can about it. Sometimes it drives me crazy, but I would so much rather him be this way than frivolous.

-When I worked nights, he would come tuck me into bed--making sure I was all covered and tucked in the covers--and then kiss me before I went to sleep.

-Now that I work days, he always asks me what I want for dinner and does his best to make dinners for us to eat together when I come home. More often than not the dinner prep goes awry, but I love that he tries to serve me in that way.

Basically, I love my husband. I could do life alone, but I'm glad that I don't have to. He brings me more happiness than anything else in my life. I'm grateful for that.
